Arts and Education Director
Vedra joins the Center after a very successful tour as the lead singer for Cirque du Soleil’s production of “Kooza” which successfully toured North America, Japan and Europe. Vedra is also an accomplished off-Broadway actress and toured in the Broadway production of “Hairspray.” In addition to acting and singing she brings significant experience in choreography, stage management, and theater production to her new role. Vedra grew up and resides here in Camden; she is the child of retired South Jersey schoolteachers.
She is a graduate of Harvard University where she was a member of The Crimson Dance Team and earned an A.B. in Government. She initially pursued a career in business and interned at the Campbell Soup Company before she pursued her artistic career. Vedra is also a member of the Marian Anderson Music Guild. And she is passionate supporter of families living here in Camden and a volunteer at Cathedral Kitchen.
Vedra will initially focus on evening music, dance and theater for the Center’s teenagers. She plans to develop an acting troupe for Camden teenagers. She also plans to build a community of artists here in Camden to support children and teenagers.
