BRIDGES: Teen Program!

What is Bridges?

The Neighborhood Center's Teen "Bridges" Program is designed to increase the odds of students living healthy and productive adult lives. This program focuses on the following key concepts: College Readiness, Workforce Development, Professional Training, Student Enrichment (Field trips & Site Visits), Arts Exploration, Mental Health Awareness, Community Support Resources, Life Skills, Community Gardening, Fitness, Social & Emotional Development and more.

Each day students will navigate through a world of fun and engaging activities that will help them develop into well rounded individuals. They will learn about college and career readiness, exploration of the arts, gain assistance with school assignments, learn about gardening and nutrition, how to combat mental health related topics, fitness and sports challenges. Each day students will learn various life skills, gain tools for success and build an inward confidence in their ability to deal with real life issues. Our program will be led by a team of experienced and passionate educators, guest speakers and industry professionals. It will also include trips to fun and educational places such as museums and family centers. This one of a kind program brings a unique balance to create a better future for our teens.

The Neighborhood Center offers a "teen lounge" with a study room/library and a career center/computer lab. In addition, they will have access to a full hardwood basketball court, a theater stage, a full service kitchen, community garden, soccer field, outdoor seating with gazebo and picnic style benches and so much more.

Some activities include:

  • College preparation/access to resources

  • Exploration of the arts: theater, visual arts, creative writing, mixed media art, pottery, music production, film making, podcasting and poetry.

  • Mental health resources and group discussions

  • Opportunities for internships, jobs and professional training

  • Student Enrichment: visits to museums, university campuses, film and recording studios, amusement parks

  • Community gardening and nutritional facts

  • Life skills development and cooking demonstrations and more....


Program Details

Resuming March 2024

Mondays through Thursdays from 3:30PM - 6:30PM

(Special events one Friday per month)

Bridges Teen Program takes place at The Neighborhood Center campus, located at 278 Kaighn Avenue, Camden, NJ 08103.

Registration fee is $50 per student which includes access to all activities, trips and location amenities. All participants will be required to complete an application. Please contact us for more information.
